24/7 concepts in dog paper on Doggo

The 24/7 concept is mentioned in a Dutch article published on the website Doggo.
The article is written by Simon Prins who is a dog trainer for the police force special unit.
He highlights the fact that dog owners need to think about dogs learning all the time. He also asks us to think about what their life is like during the day and night, how much time we have with our dogs, what they can do during the day, what choice they can make. Simon is referring to the 24/7 concept which was presented by Sabrina Brando at a dog seminar, the O&O event, in the Netherlands.

24/7 Animal Welfare Workshop at ABMA

The first 24/7 Animal Welfare Workshop was held at the Education and Research Workshop on the 18th of April 2015, during the ABMA Conference in Denmark.

The workshop had different components covering animal welfare aspects, considering life in the wild and in captivity, different developmental stages, behaviour, sensory systems, and major life events, as well as considering 14 welfare assessment criteria and coming up with action points.

The participants indicated on which species they wanted to work during the workshop, and groups varying from fish, reptiles, dogs, lions, snakes, birds, giraffes, animals in shows, primates and many more where represented in this interactive workshop.

Lots of great discussions and questions arose in the different groups!

Thank you all for letting us review the workshop outcomes of all the groups and we will share with you soon.

A huge thank you to The ABMA for hosting this workshop!
